Patio Design and Installation

Patio Design and Installation Tips

The summer may be over, but it is actually a great time for patio design and installation. The cost to install a paver patio during the off peak season can sometimes be a little more competitive. Here are some tips on patio design and construction.

Design

A very important part of the patio design and installation process is knowing how you will want to use the space and how much space you need. Think about the table and chairs, the grill, how many people live in your house, and the largest number of people that may come over. Thinking about how you want to spend your time on your paver or stone patio is key in the decision.

Budget

How much to spend is another consideration. Think about what you want and what you need. When thinking about a patio budget and reviewing estimates from contractors many think in terms of price per square foot for patio installation. However, every project is different and a uniform price per square foot is not possible. Additional factors to consider for the cost of installing your new patio include removal of and old patio or deck.

Find the Right Hardscape Contractor

Finding a professional patio design and installation company is critical. The most important thing is to make sure the company holds a Maryland Home Improvement Commission License. It is illegal for a non licensed company to build a patio without a license. If they are in good standing with the commission that means they also hold the appropriate types of insurance but it is never a bad idea to look into the matter even further. It is easy to look up with the MHIC License Search. To look at some of the recent patios we have built have a look at our hardscape projects gallery by clicking here.
